KonTiki Four-Hands
TOP
Borders? I have never seen one. But I have heard they exist in the minds of some people.
 Thor Heyerdahl
A reliable companion

How to keep a familiar face the way its connoisseurs like it? At Eterna, the answer is: with a little ingenuity. Which is why the KonTiki Four Hands is called just that: that fourth hand preserves the integrity of the familiar and much appreciated KonTiki dial’s good looks. No aperture for a date calendar here! Just neat hour figures and markers framing a centrepiece inscribed with ancient runic letters... along with a circular calendar travelled by the fourth hand, with arrowhead tip.

Reminder of the origins
Forever linked to the Eterna brand name, the name Kon-Tiki, that of an Inca sun-god, recalls the seafaring adventure of Thor Heyerdahl and his crew. In 1947, he and his companions sailed for 101 days and nights aboard a primitive balsawood raft from the cost of Peru to the Raroia atoll in Polynesia in a bid to demonstrate the possibility of the settlement of Polynesia from South America rather than from Asia. All aboard wore an Eterna wristwatch that performed flawlessly throughout their extraordinary adventure. In salute to that memorable exploit, the case back of all the KonTiki models are engraved with a medallion of the raft.
